Compare the product's backing specification and any relevant test documentation. An attached pad does not automatically satisfy an apartment association's acoustic requirements.

Use the approved underlayment system

Check whether the stated overall thickness includes the pad. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the substrate, especially over concrete. Separate vapor protection may still be required. Do not add a second soft underlayment unless it is permitted, because excess movement can affect support at the locking joints.
